February 23rd, 2010 -Dr. Jakarin Srimoon, an
Executive Director of the SEA-LAC Trade Center was
a speaker at “Tisco Latin America Fund”
Seminar at Four Seasons Hotel, Bangkok. He gave
a presentation in a topic of Latin America as an
Emerging Markets.
In 2008 Latin America’s GDP is as large as that
of China’s GDP (Latin America’s GDP: 4.38 trillion
USD and China’s GDP (2008): 4.32 trillion USD),
while ASEAN’s GDP (2008) is 2.58 trillion USD.
Latin America is named as the world commodities
market because majority of the world main commodities
exported by Latin American countries such as Coffee
13.30% exported by Brazil, Sugars and Sugar Confectionary
exported by Brazil 17.50%, Ores exported by Brazil
12.20% and Chile 9.70%, Copper exported by Chile
14.40%, and Soybeans exported by Brazil 31.21%
and Argentina 13.10%. Moreover, Brazil and Argentina
have large rooms for growth in agriculture business.
In 2014, Brazil will be a host of World Cup and
a host of Olympics Game in 2016.
