On June 21, 2013, a delegation of professors from universities in Peru, Ecuador and Colombia paid a courtesy visit to the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce (UTCC) and the Southeast Asia and Latin America (SEA-LAC) trade center. The visit is among a series of activities to boost cooperation among academic institutions from both LAC and SEA to effectively facilitate academic exchange, trade and investment.
The delegation was comprised of Dr. Felipe Portocarrero Surex, President of the Universidad del Pacifico, Lima, Peru; Mr. Ramiro Salas Bravo, Vice Director of International Relations, Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola, Lima, Peru; and Mr. Renaud Walter Neubauer, Director of the Institute of Studies of Pacific Affairs, Universidad San Fracisco de Quito, Quito, Eduador. The delegation was accompanied by the First Secretary of the Royal Thai Embassy in Lima, Peru, Ms. Supamas Yunyasit.
Receiving the delegation was Mr. Phairush Burapachaisri, Vice Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sataporn Amornsawadwatana, V. P. for Strategic Planning and Development; Dr. Pussadee Polsaram, V. P. for Foreign Affairs, UTCC; Dr. Jakarin Srimoon, Dean International College and Director of SEA-LAC Trade Center, together with researchers of the SEA-LAC Trade Center.
During the visit, both sides exchanged experiences in teaching and doing research and discussed ways to intensify academic exchange in the near future.
