What is AMSAR?
AMSAR was established by the Faculty of Communication Arts at the University of the Thai
Chamber of Commerce. Its aim is to promote cooperation in terms of the interchange of ideas,
studies and researches among ten ASEAN countries. Such cooperation will assist in academic
and professional development in the field of Mass Communication in order to keep pace with
the rest of the world.
What are our objectives?
- To do studies and researches in the field of Mass Communication practiced in 10 ASEAN countries.
- To liaise with Mass Communication scholars and professionals in ASEAN countries.
- To render academic services as well as knowledge and information on Mass Communication to the public.

What are our activities?
- Assemble Mass Communication data from ASEAN countries. Conduct both local and regional
research in cooperation with ASEAN scholars and media professionals
- Provide ASEAN Mass Communication data to the public.
- Liase with local and ASEAN tertiary institutions offering Mass Communication programs.
- Liase with all types of local and ASEAN media organization.
- Arrange local as well as international conferences on Mass Communication
