Introduction

Your language proficiency determines your career advancement. As a matter of fact, language proficiency of the personnel also plays a crucial role in the development of a country. English has been the international language of communication in business. It still is, but no longer the only one. China and Japan are rising in the business world; in order to build trust and understanding, they prefer that their business partners communicate in their tongues. For this reason, UTCC aims to equip our students with the ability to create business opportunities through language proficiency.

The School of Humanities realizes the significance of the advantage of language proficiency, and has responded by launching the Language Development Program (LDP) on June 18, 2007. The program offers courses in English, Chinese, Japanese, and other languages from beginning to advanced levels to both students and the public.

The following are some examples of services offered by the LDP:

  • English, Chinese, and Japanese remedial courses for UTCC students
  • English, Chinese, and Japanese programs of all levels for the interested students and the general public
  • TOEFL and TOEIC preparation courses
  • Providing facilities for the mentioned tests
  • Foreign language training programs abroad
  • Customized language courses for UTCC staff
  • Thai language program for international students
  • Language counseling centre for UTCC students and staff
